I am finally home!!! I arrived on December 30, driving the last leg following my sister and brother-in-law. They will be visiting the area for the New Years holiday.
I will continue to work on the daily descriptions and as seen below, now have a calendar on this page indicating which days are complete, and the date of the most recent changes. I will also add some thoughts about the trip.
Thank you all who have visited these pages, and I hope to complete the remaining pages very soon. I also thank those who have written, your comments are greatly appreciated!
To those I met along the way, thank you for allowing me a glimpse into your life, for sharing your stories, and guiding me to places I would never have seen. You are what makes a trip like this so wonderful! From the eight minute visits to the eight hour stopovers, I thank you for knowledge gained in the many very enjoyable conversations! May we meet again someday...
To the travelers...
Please sign my guestbook! Let me know where you are and any comments about the site. Thank you!

As seen on one of my other pages, the original Trip Across America, which was my first cross country trip on the back roads of America, I have become a fan of staying off the interstates and enjoying the back roads of the nation. Recently, due to circumstances beyond my control, I have been allowed the time to fulfill a life long dream of traveling around the country, including a drive on the Alaska Highway. These pages are my journal or log of experiences and sites seen along the way. This is to give a general idea of what I am doing, seeing, and where I have been. As you read these words, please keep in mind that I am NOT a writer, so do not expect professional prose.
To see entries, please click on the any of the underlined dates on the left.
Stay on back roads as much as possible. The primary aim is to stay on two lane roads, with some four lane sections along the way. These can be controlled access highways.
Do not travel on highways designated as Limited Access Interstate Highways. These should be avoided, but may be used when part of the current roadway bypassing a large city. Travel should be limited to only a few miles in this situation.
Travel on Limited Access Interstate Highways is permissible when using a location as a base. For example, after arriving in Canton Ohio on a two lane road, travel throughout the city and region can be completed by interstate highways. But when the trip is continued beyond Canton, travel should revert to the back roads.
Possible goals are as follows:
Transportation: I am touring the country in a 2001 Toyota Camry with a 6 cylinder engine.
Cameras: My primary camera for web use is a Kodak 4800 with 3.1 mega pixel capability.
I am also using a Minolta Maxxum 5Xi, and an older Minolta with wide angle and telephoto lenses.
